Through out history, many authorities have wanted to become the dominant power in Balkans. As a transition geography, the region has a complex population. In the region there are many nations from differentraces, religions and sects. These nations always enter into rivalry with each other because of many reasons, including the effect of external powers. The variety and complexity of the region has attracted seyyahs’ attention to the region. Evliya Çelebi, who had come to the region during Ottomanera, made detailed descriptions about the region. He gave information about the people of the region. He also tried to explain the importance of these people and Balkans for Ottoman Empire.
